This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their design skills working on a diverse range of projects within a supportive team environment. You will have ideally had prior experience to using AUTOCAD for work in a civil/traffic environment but will have the opportunity to develop the use of other tools like 12d (prior experience with 12d a plus but not essential).

You will be build your capabilities in being able to manage, coordinate and deliver tasks and outcomes for complex projects involving engineering expertise, as well as assign work and review it for technical accuracy.

At GTA you will be given the opportunity to be involved in the full project lifecycle on projects such as:

  • Intersections – new and modified layouts for roundabouts (single, multi‐lane), traffic signal controlled (urban and rural), grade separated and other simple priority controlled intersections
  • Bicycle Facilities – on and off-road bicycle lanes and pathways
  • Car Parks – small and large car parks (at‐grade and in some cases multi‐level) including ramping systems and access points
  • Roads – new and modified road schemes i.e., road alignments, turn lanes, road duplications and widening, grade separation, entry / exit ramps to freeways, signage and linemarking additions and alterations
  • Transport Facilities – bus interchanges, tram super‐stops, taxi ranks

Furthermore, as we are now part of a much larger organisation (22,000 staff worldwide and growing) together there will be opportunities that further broaden the variety of projects we collectively work on.

Experience and skills required:

  • Experience/exposure to AUTOCAD
  • Experience in packages like 12d and Microstation beneficial but not essential
  • An understanding of civil design and a strong desire to progress in this field
  • High level of analytical/reasoning/problem solving skills
  • A positive approach to working in a team environment
